CLOTHES FOR BASS PROGRAM

Press Release-

It is a win-win program for everyone and everything concerned.

The clothes for Bass program recently initiated by Bill Chapman, Jr.'s Anglers Inn International hunting and fishing outfitting service in Mazatlan, Mexico, is aimed at aiding needy Mexican villages while at the same time providing a shot in the arm to a famed bass reservoir that has been called the world's best bass lake.

Lake El Salto is world renowned for its largemouth action, but it is also home to commercial fishing for Tilapia.  Although now it is illegal to net bass in Mexico, largemouths often get tangled in Tilapia nets where they are frankly, usually sold and eaten by the netters who have an average income of $4 per day.

"It's easy to understand why they would eat bass that get caught up in their nets," Chapman says.  "They are worried about being able to provide food for their families and put clothes on the backs of their kids."

That's were Clothes for Bass comes in.

Commercial fisherman who turn in live bass that were caught in their nets will now receive clothing in return for their efforts.  And that is motivation that is likely to ensure that more of El Salto's finny trophies get returned to the water alive and healthy.

B.A.S.S members are invited to participate in the program by simply gathering together old clothes and shoes into 25 lbs bundles and send to the address below, or contact me with the information listed below.
